I have just joined dA. You look like you are moving away from "looking like a photograph" into the realms of true art, which is hard to do. Really push them boundaries, because you have a gift and a unique style. The colours are really good, but remember, cold hues in the back ground and warm hues in the fore ground will give more depth. The feeling I have from this image, is one of the subject (and his eyes just so), wishing he could make something go away, as the reality of his existence in the form of the coloured oils both making and running down his face, speaks to me of a profound sadness.
