Inner peace

Oil? On canvas? What sorcery is this? I thought for sure this would be a watercolor. I very much like the use of complementary colors in this it really makes for a great impact. When I look at this I see sadness but there is an acceptance to the expression, as if they have accepted whatever hardships they are going through and are preparing to move on. I think your anatomy is spot on here. I enjoy how minimal the painting is as well, and you made great use of the space, there's enough negative space to rest the eye without drowning the subject in a sea of white.
